The Unofficial Bio!
I started my career as a trainee accountant in Scotland - and quickly moved to HR, progressing to HR Manager in a manufacturing interiors company then specialising in employment law for 5 years, before moving to New Zealand with Scottish husband, Chris.
In New Zealand, I have worked at Villa Maria, Fisher and Paykel Healthcare and Carter Holt Harvey, where I covered Whangarei, Marsden Point, Head Offfice and the Nelson site – where I found my love for the Nelson region. I moved to Nelson to take up the role at Sealord in October 2011 as HR Manager for Nelson, and joined the Senior Team in January 2019.
What people may not know about me is that I:
- Have a degree in mathematics and physics
- Hate heights!! Even wearing heeled shoes!!
- Love to travel
- Once was shot…..! (grouse beater and too close to range)
- Make terrible dad jokes.
Outside of work I enjoy walks, mountain biking, small catamaran trailer sailor, photography, travel, and learning better barbecuing!
I think what makes Sealord unique is the variety of everything like the people we work with, the different aspects of work, and the nature of the fishing industry.
