The Unofficial Bio!
I started my marketing career at Unilever in New Zealand and then over in Australia (they make Continental Cup A Soup, Lipton tea, Dove and Sunsilk amongst other products). From there, I joined Lion Breweries in Sydney and worked on a few beer brands in their portfolio over 6 years. Most of my time there, I was the marketing director for South Australian Brewing.
I moved back to New Zealand in 2002 and joined The Warehouse as marketing director and was there for almost 9 years. I was really lucky to launch the e-commerce site (thewarehouse.co.nz), which was an amazing learning experience before moving into a buying role where I used to purchase all the exciting things such as electronics, toys, sporting goods as well as DVD’s and Gaming. I had a budget of $250 million to spend every year, which was both exciting and stressful!
I joined Sealord in 2012 and have loved every minute (well most). The best bit is working with a great bunch of people across the business. Of all the places I’ve worked I can honestly say that Sealord is the most unique with the variability of fishing, creating many challenges operationally and affecting sales and ultimately profit. I keep learning new things every week and with the added responsibility for Sustainability no day is the same!
Outside of work, I do enjoy a good meal and drink out with family and friends. To compensate for that, I’m pretty active with Boxfit a few days a week, squash and a lot of walking (especially since COVID-19). My two kids, Fox and Phoebe are now off at university, so I’m getting back into playing golf badly in my weekends.
